This is DEFINITELY the customer who stays nearest to our kitchen! I can cook, pack and then stroll to her house and the food is still warm. She is just a junction away from us! These days, she has a helper to assist her elderly 86yo parents who eat our tingkat too. And her helper will come by to the kitchen to pickup. Of course, pickup is FREE and the delivery charge of $7 will be excluded.
We were definitely born in the same era and we are both LEOS! It was a friendly build-up and when we opened our cafe at Rochor, her dad had a repair watch shop at Tekka and she will pop by for kopi and bee hoon, sometimes and she is also very supportive of our CNY goodies. The few times I met up with her, its like a super friendly face…
And here is exactly what she says, with no edit from me:
“My mum used to cook for us and as a Hainanese woman her food is forever tasty. As she advances in age, cooking proved to be more and more challenging for her. I knew ordering tingkat is the only solution but after trying at least 5 different caterers, all failed to live up to my mum and dads (high) expectations! 😭 I can’t recall how but I chanced upon Fat Queen and we love the food such as Kampong chicken soup, vinegar pig trotters, lotus peanut soup, roast pork etc. We’ve never looked back and even after getting a helper who can cook well, we continued with the tingkat arrangements for majority part of the week. I’m thankful for the flexibility as well, putting aside the fact that I’m able to request for no-beef no-prawn and soft veggies for elderly, on days when I prefer a vegetarian diet, Fat Queen will whip up something nutritious and delicious, no questions asked! Fat Queen has top notch customer service and always respond to me promptly. I’m very grateful to have found Fat Queen and I sincerely hope that things go well for Fat Queen and she will continue to share high quality meals with us!”
