Be it Monday or weekday blues, one can always find comfort in a good cuppa coffee or a great pc of cake. I used to hangout around this area alot. These days I will always pop by if I am around the hood.
The Pound is tucked in the corner of the inconspicuous Sultan Plaza. Its almost like a “rabbit hole”… Whimsical… The cafe is korean-owned (very friendly owners) and they bake their own cakes. Their signatures are of course their pound cakes and swiss rolls. At only $4.50 for a good size slice, it beats many other cafes around. I always go for their strawberry or earl grey roll… And the occassional tiramisu or fudge slice. But I can hardly say no to the strawberry or earl grey rolls. Soft fluffy sponge, light airy cream, fresh fruits… Right amount of sweetness… Checked!!!
Best to go with the cakes are good coffee!!! I love the robustness of their coffee beans… I saw them slow dripping their coffee for their ice brew before. But I am a die hard fan for a cuppa of cappuccino, always.
Their menu is small but its nice that way so they really only do their best at what they do best. I been there numerous times in the past 5 years and the most recent was last weekend which made me fell in love with them all over again for the same cake…
