This kopitiam used to be just beside me. I just need to cross 1 zebra crossing to get this yummy fresh popiah! Yes, you heard me right – FRESH!!!
The 1st time I had this popiah, at 1st bite, all I could remember was how “fresh” this popiah tasted – like every ingredient was prepared just ala minute. Very cheap popiah at $1.20 each. And the flavours are just on point – light, savoury, sweet, crunchy, peanuty… and the white turnip cooked to perfection. I absolutely hate it when the popiah is too wet or when its too dry. The popiah skin and chilli are nice too. Nothing much I can pick to improve with this popiah.
This stall is run by an old couple who has already retired. Weekdays, they tend after their grandkids so they only open on weekends and public holidays. Can expect a short but quick queue during lunch hours on weekends but usually quite fast as auntie can do like 6 rolls at one go!
