I love old school bread! Have been a supporter of Sing Hon Loong Bakery since forever!!! I especially love their bread loaves – really fragrant, soft and fluffy!
A good slice of bread must be breathing!!! You know when a slice of bread is stale! They hardly stock up cos their bread sells out so fast. And most times, you can buy hot-out-from-oven freshly baked bread! Once I almost had a van full of freshly baked hot bread! I almost died of bliss in the van while driving home!
They do have the stuffed buns such as red bean, coconut and the infamous curry bun. I am a super fan of the “milky” loaf with the brown skin crust (see pic 2)! Not sure how to describe that but its sooooooo… good!
The breads are not expensive and fairly reasonable. Most loaves are around $1.60 – $2. What’s really valuable are the old skillful staff! They operate 24/7 with most staff around the age of 50-60+… Old but skillful!!! Look at the way they handle the massive amount of bread making work in the shop!!! Most processes are still by hand, even cutting the crust of the bread!!! And they supply their bread to alot of cafes and retailers as well.
