Its such a rare find these days to have delicious handmade dim sum at neighbourhood prices and thats not mushy but fresh and al-dente!
Was around the hood and saw this dim sum stall. I can NEVER resist dim sum. And to know if a dim sum stall is any good, just order the simple basics – har gao, siew mai, char siew bao but cos i love my bak kut so instead its the bak kut.
Its tough to get good har gao – skin thats thin yet qq, prawns flavourful and fresh and with good bite. And this hits all the checkpoints! Siew mai was good as well… No porky smell, flavourful and with a great bite. The pork ribs was good too! Abit garlicky but good, though will prefer abit more black beans. Wah… Impressive. I am definitely gg back to try more of their other stuff.
This 3 dim sum cost me $6.40, avg $2 – $2.20 each. Nice… So from listening in to their conversations, the 3 guys behind the counter are definitely their own bosses or partners and likely from Malaysia cos they were speaking with a malaysian accent. Friendly too. When i was there ard 3pm they were also prepping and hand-making dim sum. They opened in 2018 and does sell in bulk or raw for you to steam at home to eat too!
