I have been their biggest fan since a few years ago!!! I love beef and steamboat / bbq cos I love my food hot and I love to cook my own food so I can have it just off the grill piping hot and done to the correct done-ness!

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant is my go-to place when I feel like loading up on my beef!!! Their Australian Wagyu Buffet is only $66.80++ which I think is very very reasonable… Of course if you feeling a little richer, they do have the Japanese Wagyu for $86.80++. Prices had increased by $2 since 2021 but have a slightly cheaper weekdays only option at $56.80++ with lesser beef choices. I feel I am very satisfied with the Australian one already.

The restaurants are very well spaced out, clean, cold and always in a mall. I usually visits the ones at Novena Square or Kinex. Service has been so far so good, no complaints. And they do have loyalty programme too for every $20 spent, you get a stamp… Blah blah blah… but thats negligible…

The Australian beef are well-marbled, juicy and fresh. Not once I had any bad beef. Their menu is extensive as well from hot/cold appetisers, to seafood to staples and meats… A very good variety and free flow of green tea too. I super love their charcoal grill! Not only are they super hot, the grill is designed in such a way that the smoke/fumes gets sucked into the tables and somehow purged out elsewhere so its a non-smoky environment and you hardly stink after your grill session there.

I will suggest to order just 1 portion of all the yummy beef to try and see which ones u like then reorder the ones you like. Personally my must orders include: Australia wagyu brisket, Australia wagyu chuck, USA karubi, harami (Shio), sausages, prawns, scallops, kurobuta jowl, teriyaki chicken, squid, a couple of appetisers and must order their garlic fried rice!

I have tried eating this alone a few times but trust me, always better to have at least 4 pax so you can have a bit of everything!!!

Gyu-Kaku has a few outlets… The ones that serve the bbq buffet are at UE Square, Novena Square, Kinex, Star Vista, Marina Square, City Square Mall, Waterway Point and Chijmes. I think only Centrepoint doesn’t have the buffet.
