Another unexpected find in an industrial area. I had it for breakfast (cos my man works there and I usually have it for breakfast) the 1st time and I was hooked! $3 – very generous and yummy portion!!!
1) This particular wanton mee has finer noodles and being finer, the trick to getting the noodles cooked right is also tricky but the lady boss manages it well everytime!!!
2) Very generous wanton fillings! I hate it when the wanton fillings are so miserable!!! Don’t you? The wanton fillings here are full and you can taste cantonese flavours (not sure how to describe it to you but the spring onions, turnip, meat-fat proportion, flavourings are on point)!
3) The soup is gorgeous!!! You can taste the long hour boiled yellow beans and ikan billis in every sip, not a generic chicken/pork stock. I love the soup!!! Sometimes when I order wanton soup, I will tell the lady boss to give me lesser soup only cos she is always so generous filling it to the brim and I don’t wanna waste her effort…
4) Very very generous with the char siew – not just a pathetic 3-5 pcs.. and she definitely make her own char siew cos its fresh!
I usually go for the dried wanton mee at $3, else it will be the wanton soup only with add-on char siew for $4 or the dumpling soup (very yummy too)!
