CNY is just round the corner and I have always been a big fan of pineapple tarts – love them buttery and melty and with generous amount of not-too-sweet yet tangy pineapple filling. Whats your perfect pineapple tart like?
These 3 bottles were sent in from Kneading Love , this friendly homebaker started her #HBB amidst COVID. At first thought her cookies seem interesting. I like that they are savoury – scallion cookies, garlic cookies, etc. Then there was the pineapple balls. The 3 bottles came in a nice cute pink plastic bag which I am still reusing as of now. The pink is too sweet 🤣… Back to food…
Attacked the pineapple balls first for sure! Most of us eat with our eyes first, agree?! The pineapple balls size and bake looks good!!! Don’t like it when they are too small or big! 1 ball about 2 pop is perfect! The browned egg-wash crust looks good and indeed… The 1st bite was crunchy through from the browned egg-wash crust to the buttery melty pastry thats not too thick then I sank my teeth into the heavenly ball of pineapple filling!!! 😍😍😍
The pineapple filling is great!!! Not too sweet and not too sour, just nice + you get the bite of pineapple! Thats what makes a great filling. So at the same time cos I was looking for pineapple tarts/balls to sell together with my own baked CNY goods at 1PotCooking so I was tasting and comparing almost 8 different pineapple tarts from different home bakers! This was the winner!!!
The other 2 savoury cookies were interesting. Almost like butter cookies but flaky which is nice. But I do wish for the scallion and garlic taste to be stronger that will be perfect! They do sell other kind of goodies such as pandan cookies, hae bee hiam rolls, etc.
