No prizes for guessing what I ate this morning! 🤭🤣 Its “Chwee Kueh” 水粿!!! A good chwee kueh is hot, soft with a gooey yet al-dente bite… All the greatness in 1 small bowl of steamed flour.

This “Tiong Bahru” chwee kueh stall is at @ 303 Anchorvale Court Kopitiam. Wondering how many “Tiong Bahru” chwee kuehs are there in SG… 🤔🤔🤔 Nevertheless, this definitely checks the chwee kueh box for me! Though the kueh can do better but its good enough – soft and nice. Whats really good is the cai poh and its chilli!!! The cai poh is of the right saltiness and has that nice kiam pang taste and you get the nice fragrant aroma from the garlic but not overpowering and love the fragrance and bite from the white sesame seeds!

To top it off, their chilli is power!!! Very fragrant and spicy! My chwee kueh – I always add cai poh 50¢ and chilli 20¢! The auntie will always say aiyo… Not spicy meh?! I will tell auntie your chilli very nice and the cai poh oso very nice! Their chee cheong fun is not too bad either.
