Poh Guan Cake House needs no introduction – they have been around since 1930!!! They kinda gone less sweet these days which is even better!!!
The braise was good, just nice for me – neither overly salty nor of the anise star or cloves taste and the duck meat is of the right texture.
Kway was nice and smooth. The chap was good – no porky smell or taste. But overall, its a pleasant eat. I especially love their big intestines “大肠”… Very nicely done.
Char siew is old school taste like char siew I ate when I was young. The noodles are thick but very q and the sambal and sauce are nice…
A good chwee kueh is hot, soft with a gooey yet al-dente bite… All the greatness in 1 small bowl of steamed flour.
