I have my favourite Mee Rebus stall at 401 Hougang. And we all know Mee Siam / Mee Rebus are done well by our dear Malay friends. However, at this stall in Hougang that sells also Bak Chor Mee, Fried Carrot Cake, Char Kway Teow, makes me dubious about their Mee Siam / Mee Rebus. Nevertheless, I been meaning to try so…
I asked the auntie in the queue in front of me who had just ordered Mee Siam takeaway.
Me: “Auntie, 他们的 Mee Siam 好吃啊?”
Auntie: “不错啦. 很多人吃也是.”
I ordered 1 Mee Siam / 1 Mee Rebus, $3 each. Not too bad. Quite a nice suprising find for a chinese stall that sells many other dishes. The Mee Siam was flavourful though I prefer it to be bit more tangy, can taste the fragrance of the tau cheo. Mee Rebus was thick, gooey and nice too. Overall a good eat and decent portion for $3.
