Tucked away in basement of the good old Katong Shopping Centre where there is the famous Donna Manis Cake Shop / Chicken Rice, Le Le Zhan is a quaint simple shop that serves up great homecooked style desserts.
I love anything and everything almond but almond is very tricky… Especially if you work with almond essence, thats like yucky!!! And to find almond paste that doesn’t leave a bad after-taste or one thats so fresh and tasty is so tough. Le Le Zhan did it! Even better than the dessert shops in Chinatown.
Most desserts are from $3 onwards… a little more expensive than the commercial ones out there but definitely worth it! Their hot desserts are a MUST-TRY. They do serve some fried items and soon kueh, chee cheong fun but I have yet to taste them. Usually too full on desserts from there… Lol
