I am a fan of all thing old school but as far as wanton mee goes, I actually like the HK style with thin and qq noodles. So we were at Old Airport Road doing some delivery and Old Airport Hawker Centre is one to never to be missed. Always got new discovery of food there!
I had quite a bad meal of 五香虾饼 but my man surprisingly had a very good plate of OLD SCHOOL WANTON MEE!!! There was a q at the wanton mee stall and knowing him is just those few noodles or porridge for him. So while he joined the queue, i decided to look around. Since there is a queue, i also decided to take a pic of stall just in case it tasted nice…
Wah the serving looks big but thats cos the man ordered the big serving. The wanton looks thick… It it… Soup ok, but the noodles and char siew actually looks very decent! I told the man, I think the mee and char siew should be good. And it is!!!
Char siew is old school taste like char siew i ate when i was young. The noodles are thick but very q and the sambal and sauce are nice… Reminds me of 30years ago!!! Its good… Only drawback will hv been the wanton!
