Undeniably, I think 80s kids grew up eating fried bee hoon or mee for breakfast! Those were the days at 6.30am, I be at my neighbourhood kopitiam in my school uniform slurping up a plate of fried “carbo” with a sunny side up + a small bowl of peanut porridge and all for only $2!!!

I think we are all very familiar with Chong Pang Economic Bee Hoon – they have queues all day long and indeed, they USED to have great fried mee (wet, fragrant, al-dente, flavourful…) but not anymore, I was there a couple of months ago and the fried mee was less than satisfactory. I used to be a fan as I was staying near Yishun.
A surprise breakfast dabao by a friend some time back, allowed me to discover this economic bee hoon stall just beside Soo Teck LRT. Craving for it, me and my man decided to go see where exactly is the stall and ta-dah, we found it!

The kopitiam is just right beside Soo Teck LRT, expect peak morning or weekends crowd queue. They start selling as early as 530am and usually sell out shortly after lunch. The accompanying sides were not too bad, the chicken wing is nice and so was their curry veg. I am usually a fried bee hoon girl while my man is the fried mee man. And yes, the fried mee is a must-try in this case cos its good!!!

Pricing, however, do not expect this to be too economical, the 2 plates in the picture cost a total of about $9+ (quite common these days). But yes, I will go for the fried mee!!!
