Thai zi char with a localised twist. I actually go Thailand 3-4x a year last time for work last time so this is definitely very yummy zi char somehow adjusted to suit local palettes but overall still very delish!
It was pouring so heavily and we were in the area to deliver some food, so popped by Midview City for our dinner. I can hardly resist thai food cos I love sour and spicy!!!
The whole “canteen” or food court only has Taste of Thailand – Midview City and the drink stall operating at this hour – saturday dinnertime. So seatings aplenty! They have enough service staff to seat you and take your orders quickly. I love how spacious and airy the whole place is. Make eating your meal pleasant.
The menu is quite standard zi char and i always appreciate it when they pick our chef’s recommendations, make it easier for 1st time customers. As usual, we run into problems when ordering for 2… Wanted to try more but can hardly finish if we over order. So decided to order sambal kangkung, tom yam soup (a must when eating thai food especially on a rainy day) and i insisted on ordering the fried fish cos it looks so good!!!!
The food was good!!! The sambal kangkung smell so good when it arrive. I couldn’t stop smelling it! The wok hey with the sambal belachan… Mmmm… The fish, i was so happy i did not give it a miss cos its so good!!! Crunchy on the outside and soft flaky freshly sweet on the inside and paired with its chilli its so good! Even the man who fought so hard to NOT order the fish agreed it was so good! The tom yam soup may look underwhelmed but the flavours are not too bad. I like it that they use fresh prawns and sotongs, not those soaked in “peng seh zui”.
The whole dinner cost us $39 which is affordable for a good zi char. No ++, no service charge! The fish is $22 (medium), no small one ($18). We definitely ate too full but definitely satisfied from the meal! Will be back again. The lady boss told us that they are open for cny so feel free to make reservations for your cny meals gathering!
