Its all the rage in town! Bestie jio and so we went… Before I tried it, I thought “Pao Fan” will be somewhat high heat wok-hey rice with thick yummy broth… Like “mui fan” but more crunch and wok-hey… Or so I thought…
We went around 7pm, queue was short and service quite brisk. Options were affordable – $4.50 for clams pao fan to $18 with half a lobster. We ordered 2 x seafood pao fan $7.50 each and 1 x fried fish pao fan $6 only cos they had ran out of slice fish.

To the contrary of what I thought, it was just plain rice in yummy flavourful soup topped with the ever yummy deep fried egg floss and crispy rice puffs! A super plus side is that the seafood are very fresh. I love the soup – peppery and “鲜” though will prefer it to be thicker. The crispy rice puffs however are somewhat there not there. Once in the bowlful of soup, it just lose its crispiness.
Good portion, just nice for a dinner. Not too heavy. Fresh seafood, good soup though it may not be too bad an option if its more meat based rather than seafood. Or as bestie suggested someone should do the ramen or tonkatsu version. Sounds good too!

That said, we will have this any time of the day cos seafood and soup… Me love. And its pretty good price. Bestie not a fan of seafood or hot soups but enjoyed it anyway… My man wiped out the whole bowl and drank up all the soup!
