When hunger strikes late at night, our favourite supper haunts will most likely include one of the 24hours prata places. And this was one of the “gang’s” favourite – Alsalam Restaurant. Alsalam has 4 outlets apparently – 2 at Tampines, 1 at East Coast and 1 at Changi Road. This is the one at Changi Road.
When the gang keep raving about the chicken soup, I was like mmm… Chicken soup at a prata place, how fantastic can it be?! 🤔🤔🤔 Well, it blew my mind!!!
The chicken soup is a MUST ORDER!!! It’s super flavourful and tangy!!! Very appetising… The flavours from the chillies, tomatoes, celery, onions… ooh so yummy!!! They use chicken thigh meat for the soup so even the chicken meat is so tender! To top it off, you can order toasted “jiam tou roti” aka french loaf to dip in your soup!!! Lagi best… Toasted crispy on the outside, but soft fluffy on the inside, soaking up the tangy soup.
Another gang’s favourite to order there is their coin prata. Made on order – each pc of coin is crispy and fluffy and tasty with ghee… Goes well with their mutton curry!!! Bee hoon goreng ain’t too bad… I love their teh tarik too. More chicken soup please cos it definitely whets up your supper appetite and leaves you craving for more…
