Do you take pride in your job? I am sure Uncle Tony does!!!! Uncle Tony’s Tuckshop is a small cafeteria at Sengkang Community Hub – a place where our local polyclinic, community center, neighbourhood police post is. They serves up quick makan such as Mee Siam, Nasi Lemak, etc… And WAFFLES!!!
I can never resist the smell of waffles… So alluring… The waffles signage is very apparent when you walkby the tuckshop (such good old primary school memory… 🤣🤭). I reckon the “stylo-milo” uncle sporting a ponytail should be Uncle Tony. I watched for a while then decided to order mine with cream cheese…
He has 3 waffles makers that can make 6 waffles at any one time. Lots of fillings varieties for you to choose from. The batter looks good (used to work in a cake shop and was in-charge of the waffles station during secondary school days) – thick, gooey and pandan-y… Should be yummy!
But I reckon why the waffles are yummy is cos of Uncle Tony… The way he stir the batter and then make the waffles… I am “star-struck”!!! The batter is stirred in a rythmic way before scooping and pouring into the maker. Every single pc of waffles is done to perfection – brown on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside!!! Best way to enjoy the waffles!!!
Plain waffles start from $1.50 with the standard kaya, butter, peanut going at $1.70… and fancier ones like nutella and cream cheese going for $3. 50¢ for any additional topping.
I definitely will be back for more with this waffle. And cos I kaypoh, I asked a malay lady who was sitting beside me if the mee siam was good cos it looks good – she said yes. Shall try that soon.
