We all know whats Ban Mian 板面, Mee Hoon Kueh 面粉粿, etc. It took me a while to understand whats Sheng Mian 生面. So basically, it literally just means raw noodles. Noodles thats been cooked, dried are 熟面. 生面 basically means its freshly done, have not been steamed or cooked and dried prior.

Since then, i have been on the lookout to try the different types of sheng mian available. But however, seems like not much options available out there.
This is a hot favourite among noodles lovers. Constant queue. And this is my man’s favourite stall. His must visit every week and his usual breakfast after a morning jog at Seletar Reservoir… At 1st, I really could not understand the 20-30mins queue for a bowl of noodles – I don’t like queues. But then at 1st mouth, I know why.

Their sheng mian is really very well done – good flavours. Very al-dente. The soup is very flavourful – can taste the effort of long boiling ikan billis and pork bones… The interesting part about sheng mian is when cooked with soup, it thickens it slightly. The $3 bowl of noodles is packed with prawns, minced meat, ikan billis, veg and an egg – definitely worth it! Have yet to try their dried version cos all of us include my man’s friends love the soup version.

My man was like don’t blog about this stall la. Queue already so long later lagi long… I say they already long queue long long ago… I blog don’t blog they also long queue what. Lol. Good things are meant to be shared!

And i have since then tried 3 other stalls that offered sheng mian at different places – but this sheng mian is really nice. So thats explains why the constant queue. They have been around for 20+ years… Previously from Seletar and apparently, there is another stall run by the brother in Toa Payoh and a 3rd branch in Geylang East. 🤔🤔🤔
